In this exhibition walk-through of his second show at Waddington Custot, artist Landon Metz discusses the importance of the exhibition space and viewer interaction to the completion of his abstract paintings. He talks about his efforts to neutralise the formal hierarchy between artist, artwork, and viewer, and how today he is a kind of 'meta author', allowing the architecture of the building to contribute to the painting's eventual form, and viewers to mentally complete the image presented by each composition.
