"Works on Paper: A Decade of Collecting" at Bennington Museum

Bennington Museum is taking a new look at its collection and is engaging with and acquiring recent works created by regional artists, to further explore the rich history of Bennington and Vermont, and a display in the Museum’s Works on Paper Gallery "Works on Paper: A Decade of Collecting," spotlights the work of Paul Feeley. His work is shown among other artists including Gayleen Aiken, Milton Avery, Wilson "Snowflake" Bentley, Luigi Lucioni, Duane Michals, and Norman Rockwell. Curator Jamie Franklin commented: ‘It's really my goal to highlight the diversity of our collections and collecting practices in this show’.

Feeley is well known for his rich history with the college, where he was head of the Bennington College Art Department during the 1950s and early 1960s. He was an instrumental figure in the rise of Bennington, Vermont as a cultural outpost for the New York art world.
