Sculptures by David Annesley, Jean Dubuffet and Robert Indiana shown at ARTZUID

Amsterdam's Sculpture Biennial runs until 24 September 2023

Sculptures by David Annesley, Jean Dubuffet and Robert Indiana are to be shown at the 8th edition of ARTZUID, Amsterdam's Sculpture Biennial, from 20 May – 24 September 2023.

Curated by Jasper Krabbé, a total of fifty sculptures by internationally renowned artists and Dutch talent are exhibited on Apollolaan and Minervalaan streets in Plan-Zuid, a district of Amsterdam designed by Hendrik Petrus Berlage in 1915 in the Amsterdam School style.

The theme of this edition is The Street Power of (Neo)-Popart, Arte Povera and Nouveau Realism to Modern Art, and is intended to appeal to a youthful audience through colour, aesthetics and forms derived from popular culture and the media.

Counter movements will also be exhibited, with sculptures from the period of Art Povera and Nouveau Realism, showing that seemingly opposing art movements are in fact influenced by each other.

ARTZUID focuses exclusively on outdoor sculpture and is free of charge. The route map and catalogue are available at the ARTZUID Information Pavilion t.o. Minervalaan 1, with tours at 1pm on weekends.
