Fabienne Verdier's Mute now open at Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine, Paris

Open until 16 February 2026

The Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine will spotlight Fabienne Verdier with a landmark exhibition titled Mute – Fabienne Verdier, on view from 22 October 2025 through 16 February 2026. Conceived by curator Matthieu Poirier, this presentation marks the launch of a new initiative that places contemporary artists in direct dialogue with the museum’s rich holdings.

Taking over the Galerie des moulages, the exhibition brings together approximately forty artworks, charting three decades of Verdier’s exploration of gesture and abstraction. Her dynamic brushwork and fluid forms will engage with the imposing casts of medieval and classical architecture, transforming the space into a meeting ground where centuries collide and resonate.

Running parallel to Chromoscope, a project dedicated to the ongoing influence of American Color Field painting, Mute underscores how abstract art continues to reinvent itself. The exhibition forms part of the Art Basel Paris institutional program and is realized with the support of Galerie Lelong & Co. and Waddington Custot.
