Pablo Reinoso's 'Still Tree'

New installation unveiled in Miami

A new work by Pablo Reinoso, 'Still Tree' is unveiled in Miami on 3 December 2019. In this piece, Reinoso encases an uprooted tree within a protective iron sculpture. This metal skeleton functions as a shield, or special kind of armour for the dead tree trunk, evoking the titanic environmental battle against pollution. As part of the gallery's increased focus on monumental sculpture, Waddington Custot are supporting this major new work, the launch of which coincides with Art Basel Miami Beach, as part of an Art Basel Cities initiative, in an exhibition curated by Florencia Battiti and Diana Wechsler.

Pablo Reinoso will be giving an artist's talk on the site of the sculpture on Friday 6 December, 2.15pm–2.45pm.
