Biography
Waddington Custot is delighted to present a solo exhibition of new works by Kenia Almaraz Murillo (born 1994 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia), alongside two works by Olga de Amaral (born 1932 in Bogotá, Colombia).
This exhibition highlights the unique artistic practice of Kenia Almaraz Murillo, inspired by the culture of the Andean peoples of the Bolivian highlands.Through her work, she explores the resonance between her Andean cultural and spiritual heritage and her adopted French culture, more specifically the imprint of the Western urban environment. The alchemy she creates offers both an exploration and a universal vision, echoing the artistic approach of her Colombian elder, Olga de Amaral.
