Yves Dana: 'Citadelle'

For his first solo exhibition at Waddington Custot, Yves Dana presents Citadelle, a contemplative display of recent sculptures shaped from stone, iron and wood. Working with blocks sourced from Egypt to Pakistan, Dana transforms each one into quietly powerful forms that evoke ancient ruins, sensual topographies and sacred objects. His deeply personal practice reflects on memory, touch and the elemental quality of time.

Extending into the outdoor space of Smithson Plaza, a selection of Dana’s vertical stone sculptures take on new resonance in the open air. These monumental works—engraved, polished, and subtly crested—suggest silent witnesses to lost civilisations. With Citadelle, Dana invites us into a meditative encounter with material, scale and the echoes of the past.
